Maybe starting construction during the middle of the first major pandemic in a 100 years wasn’t a good idea. Maybe doing so while also living 7,744 miles away and not being able to travel makes it even more questionable. Though progress is slow and being half a world away is making things tougher we are still glad to be making progress.
Since our last check-in there has been good progress made on the deck structure, the windows, electrical, plumbing, the CMU block and heating and cooling installation. We’ve also made some design decisions regarding the siding between the CMU block as well as fireplace designs and the screening in the main stairwell. So, let’s get right into sharing the progress.

We’ve hit the turning point where it looks like we are finally making significant steps forward. The large slider should be going in any day and that means we’ll be able to finally be water tight in the main part of the house. The kitchen is ordered and scheduled for install as well. We’ll post more pics as we progress. We are also hoping to be back in the near future to see some of this progress in person.
